Abstract

PURPOSE: To contrive the extension of the dies' life and the reduction of defects in the cast product, by forming the first stuccoed layer on the dies' surface applying the stucco of high particle density consisting of aluminum powder and the cold setting binder, and then, by forming the second stuccoed layer of suitable buffering property and heat insulation on the first layer applying the stucco consisting of diatomaceous earth and the same binder.

CONSTITUTION: After cleaning the dies' surface by the shot blast, etc., the stucco is applied on the dies' surface forming the first stuccoed layer and is dried; hereupon, the stucco is prepared by mixing and agitating following materials to form a homogeneous material; that is, the aluminum or Al₂O₃ powder as the aggregate, the cold setting, oily, heat resisting, flame resisting, resin as the binder, and the alcohol or thinner as the dilutant, at the rate 1:1:1W1:2:4. Next, the silica sand finer than 200 Mesh, the chamotte or talc finer than 300 Mesh for filling up the intergranular void of silica sand, and the diatomaceous earth are admixed at the rate 70W95:1W1W10:3W30, resulting in the aggregate which is mixed with above stated thinner at the rate 1:1W1:5; thus prepared mixed liquor is admixed with above stated binder at the rate 1:0.2W1:1, finishing the stucco; this stucco is applied on the first layer and the second stuccoed layer is formed.
