PURPOSE:To increase greatly the sensing distance with the high sensitivity by modulating the local oscillation frequency and the detection frequency with the signal corresponding to the detection output signal and at the same time applying the reception heterodyne system. CONSTITUTION:The signal received at antenna 1 is supplied to frequency mixer 7, and the differential or sum frequency signal to the modulation signal sent from modulator 8 is led out to be supplied to low-frequency amplifier 9. Amplifier 9 amplifies mainly the differential frequency signal sent from mixer 7 and then supplies the amplified signal to LPF10. LPF10 gives the selective passing to the differential frequency signal and then supplies the signal to detector 2. Detector 2 performs the envelope curve detection to extract the amplitude information of the input signal and then drives speaker 5 and others. On the other hand, modulator 8 receives the high-frequency signal from local oscillator 11 and gives the modulation by the rectangular wave modulation signal given from modulation signal generator 12. This modulation signal undergoes the mixture through mixer 7, and the detection signal of detector 2 is turned into the detection output signal corresponding to the modulation signal. Thus no output of LPF10 is extracted when no external signal is supplied, and accordingly speaker 5 and others are not driven.
