Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A carcinostatic comprising a 2-0-[4-0-(adenyl-β-D-ribofuranosid- 5-yl)-α-glycopyranosyl]-allaric-γ-lactone of formula I. The compound of formula I is obtained by intramolecular dehydrocyclization and removal of phosphoric acid from the well-known allaric acid of formula II, produced through a microorganism strain belonging to the genus Bacillus thuringiensis, and has been found to exhibit the activity against the cancer of ascites in mice.
