Abstract

PURPOSE: To form homogeneous and smooth fluorescent film, by coating the inner surface of a U-shaped glass tube with fluorescent suspension and introducing dry air into the tube alternatively through both openings.
CONSTITUTION: After coating its inner surface with fluorescent suspension, a U- shaped glass tube 1 is held by a holder 2 with its both openings downwards. An air cylinder 3e is actuated to insert nozzles 3a in the openings. A solenoid valve 3f is then opened, for example, for three seconds to feed a given amount of drying air in the tube 1 and closed. At the same time, another solenoid valve 3g is opened for three seconds to feed the given amount of drying air in the tube 1 and closed. Repeating this operation until the fluorescent suspension is dried up, the nozzles 3a are descended and removed from the tube 1.
