Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce pumping loss of a rotary piston engine due to the so-called "throttle valve loss of intake air" considerably, by controlling the quantity of relieving mixture during compression cycle of the engine and thereby controlling the quantity of intake air.
CONSTITUTION: Rotor 3 is turned around output shaft 18 in a space defined by rotor housing 1 and side housings 2. Mixture is supplied from carburetor 13 and drawn into said space via intake passage 4 (primary intake passage 4a and secondary intake passage 4b). After mixture is compressed in the work space, it is ignited by ignition plugs 6a, 6b and discharged to the outside from exhaust passage 5. Here, there is provided an opening 7 which opens in said work space in compression cycle of engine for communication to intake passage 4 via recirculating passage 8. Further, in this recirculating passage 8, there is provided a control valve 9 which is turned in synchronism wih rotation of engine and relative opening of which is varied with operational condition of engine.
