PURPOSE:To allow discharge working treatment in an optimal discharge space by detecting the time from rise-up of inter-electrode voltage waveform till start of discharge and controlling the discharge space according to the detected time. CONSTITUTION:Comparison circuits 17-1, 17-2, 17-3 successively compare and process the contents, or preset upper threshold values, of the registers 18-1, 18-2, 18-3 and cumulative time of the counters 16-1, 16-2, 16-3, while comparison circuits 19-1, 19-2, 19-3 successively compare and process the contents, or preset lower threshold values, of the registers 20-1, 20-2, 20-3 and cumulative time of the counters 16-1, 16-2, 16-3. A fall indicating signal and a rise indicating signal are obtained from the AND gates 14 and 15, respectively, to control the servo mechanism whereby to control the feed of the electrode 2-1.
