Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance thermal efficiency through reduced cooling space by a structural arrangement such that preheater furnace and cooling furnace using fluidized layer are installed upstream and downstream of heating furnace equipped with high-speed burners at specified location so that waste gas from the heating furnace can be used in the preheater furnace. CONSTITUTION:A steel wire 2 to be treated is driven by the winder 1, passes through the preheater 4 using fluidized layer and is heated, then enters the heating furnace 6 and is uniformly heated by high-speed burners 9 located on the ceiling of the furnace 6, with a certain angle to the wire flow. The wire 2 is then passed through the cooling furnace 5 and is cooled. Combusted waste gas from the furnace 6 is sent via the fan 8 into the preheater 4 and is utilized for preheating. The use of fluidized layer enhances the effect of heat transmission, which, together with the use of waste gas from the furnace 6, increases heat efficiency. Also, cooling space is greatly reduced as compared with the conventional simple fan cooling system.
