Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform welding at high efficiency without any rubbing flaw and improve the quality of products by rotating the electrode wheels making pressure contact with the welding work in conformity with the moving speed of the welding work.
CONSTITUTION: The welding work 1 is formed to tubular form having a V-form gap by pressing rollers 3, 4 and a seam guide roller 10 inserted between edge parts 1a, 1b, and moves in the direction of an arrow 2. A high frequency power source 7 is connected to the electrode wheels 8, 9 which are pressure-contacted onto the edges 1a, 1b. The high frequency current passes from one electrode wheel 8 through the edge 1a and arrives at the welding point W, then passes through the edge 1b and returns to the power source 7 from the electrode wheel 9. As a result of this, the edges 1a, 1b are red heated and at the weld point W, they are red-heat-melted maximumly by the abrupt direction change of the current and are then pressure-contact- welded by the pressing rollers 3, 4.
