CONSTITUTION:Fiber chops of alkali-proof metals such as nickel, stainless steel and so on with fiber diameter of 2-100mu are sintered for constructing a sintered substrate with porosity of 85-95%. After being filled with water solution slurry of iron or active materials of iron compound and dried, this sintered substrate is sintered in a reducing atmosphere for obtaining a sintered iron electrode. The length of the above-written fiber chops is preferably chosen within the range of 0.1-30mm.
