Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain continuously stable braking gap by constructing the adjusting piston such that the rotation is stopped through fricitional engagement with conical recessed face of brake piston while the adjusting nut rotates integrally with the adjusting piston.
CONSTITUTION: When supplying compressed liquid into cylinder 11 during braking, the piston 36 moves to the right to press the friction pad 18 against left side face of brake disc 19, while the caliper 24 moves to the left due to the reaction thus to press the friction pad 20 through reaction chip 22 against the right side face of brake disc 19. At the same time the adjusting piston 31 engaged together with the piston 36 to conical recessed face by means of flush spring 27 also moves to the right. If the brake gap is wider than the gap S, the stopper ring 7 of adjusting piston 31 is fitted to left end face of adjusting nut 13 while when the piston 36 moves further to the right the flush spring 27 flexes thereby the adjusting piston 31 and adjusting nut 13 follow the piston 36 while rotating integrally against the adjusting bolt 6 thus to correct the brake gap.
