Abstract

PURPOSE: To decrease the range of variation of drive voltage and to make longer the life of liquid crystal, by selecting the voltage fed to the common electrode of liquid crystal cell and by inverting the polarity of video signal in synchronizing with the selection.
CONSTITUTION: The selection means consisting of FF10 and the transistors 13,14 connected to the input terminal 9 which selects the voltage fed to the common electrode of the liquid crystal cell so that the polarity of application can be inverted, is provided. Further, the polarity inversion means consisting of the analog switches 16,17 connected respectively to the video signal input terminals 11,12 of positive and negative polarity inverting the polarity of the drive voltage corresponding to the video signal fed to the X electrode via the serial parallel conversion circuit 7 in synchronizing with the voltage selection and inputting the output and its inverted output of FF10, is provided. Further, the selection means is driven in synchronizing with the selection of screen and the range of change in drive voltage can be reduced.
