Abstract
PURPOSE: An automatic transmission gear box simplified in the equipping of control valves with a reduced cost by constructing to reduce the number of control valves into two to operate cylinder means.
CONSTITUTION: When a solenoid 21 in a shift control valve 17 is electrified to move a spool valve 14 to the left, an input port 25 is connected to the second output port 27 to supply pressure oil, while the first output port 26 is connected to a drain port 29. Thus, pressure oil is supplied to a chamber 8b of a cylinder 8 through the input port 25, the port 27, an input port 38 of a select valve 18, and the first select port 43, while another chamber 8a is connected to the drain port 29 through the second select port 42, an input port 37, and the port 26. Consequently, a piston 8A and a fork rod 2 are moved to the right to shift the gear into the first speed from neutral. The speed can be shifted further as far as the fifth speed.
