Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the mechanism of the fire detector with a small size by securing detection even for the smoke and the heat via only the luminous element and the photo detector of the fire detector.
CONSTITUTION: Luminous element 1 composed of the light emitting diode and photo detector such as CdS or the like are put into darkroom 3 to which the smoke flows from outside in such a way that just a slight amount of light may enter detector 2 from element 1. At the same time, element 1 is located at the position where the thermal effect is received easily from outside. When the smoke flows between element 1 and detector 2, the light from element 1 is dispersed. And thus the amount of the light received from detector 2 increases to actuate alarm 4. At the same time, the temperature of element 1 increases when the ambient temperature rise up by the fire to decrease the amount of the light emitted. As a result, the light reception amount of detector 2 decreases to actuate alarm 4. In this way, the smoke, the heat and the stop of the light emission of element 1 can be detected at a detector part, thus simplifying the mechanism with a small size.
