Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate the connecting operation for a rotor winding, by bending the end portion of the hollow conductor of the upper coil and the end portion of the hollow conductor of the lower coil such that both ends i.e. the soldering portions are horizontal, and soldering a hollow clip to connect them.
CONSTITUTION: In a water-cooled rotor winding for a vertical shaft rotary electric machine, uninsulated hollow conductors 1b at the end portions of the upper coil 1 and the lower coil 1a are bent to have horizontal end planes so that the soldering portion of a hollow clip 7 is made horizontal, whereupon low temperature soldering is carried out. Thus, since the soldering portion of the clip 7 is horizontal, the soldering is facilitated, and, when they are to be disassembled after factory test for transportation, the hollow conductors 1b are made long and they are crushed at A-A lines upon disassembling to cut away the clip 7, then at a job site the crushed portions are cut away and soldered together using a new clip 7a so that hydrogen- brittleness can be avoided.
