Abstract
PURPOSE: To make possible the electric current to be easily concentrated at the end face of the pipe on purpose to contrive to improve the production efficiency, by placing both ends of pipes respectively shifting 180 degrees in the direction of circumference so as to face each other with different polarity, and then, by contacting the electrodes.
CONSTITUTION: Electrodes 5W8 are contacted with the pipes 1 and 2 whose circumferential positions are shifted by 180 degrees. Hereupon, electrodes 5 and 8 are placed under the same polarity, and electrodes 6 and 7 are placed under the opposite polarity against electrodes 5 and 8. When the pipes 1 and 2 are to be pressure welded, the distance between pipes 1 and 2 is settled near, and the electrodes 5W8 are respectively contacted to the end faces of pipes 1 and 2; and then, electrodes 5W8 are rotated, and at the same time, the high frequency power source 4 is actuated. Hereby, the end faces of pipes 1 and 2 are heated and are placed under the condition that the pressure welding can be performed; therefore, the high frequency current is reduced and the pressure welding of pipes 1 and 2 is performed. According to this method, the directions of current flowing through the end faces of pipes 1 and 2 become opposite each other, and the current becomes easily flowable concentrating at the end face of the pipe, so that the heating efficiency can be improved.
