Abstract

PURPOSE: To discriminate the running speed of a mgnetic tape by generating recognizing signals when the running speed of the tape reaches it substantially steady condition.
CONSTITUTION: When a switch is turned on, a magnetic tape starts it running operation, but a flip-flop F2 is still left under its reset condition so that the drum continues its constant speed rotations. When the speed reaches its substantially steady condition, negative pulses are generated at the output terminal of a NAND gate 15. In response to these pulses, the flip-flop F2 is set, and a relay 11 is relased. In a drum drive circuit 10, a potential is fed from a buffer Q9 so that the drum is brought into a servo-rotating condition. Thus, during the time while the running speed of the magnetic tape is at a low value, the video head is placed under a constant speed rotating condition.
