Abstract

PURPOSE: To sufficiently suppress plasma variations by effectively operating plasma variation suppressing effect, namely shell effect of a plasma control coil itself.
CONSTITUTION: A current control loop 20 consists of a current control regulator 12, a phase controller 11, a thyristor power supply 10, a voltage detector 13, a coil characteristic similator 14, and a comparator 19. Thus, a voltage Vv is given to flow a current ip through a vertical magnetic field coil 9. Accordingly, it can provide magnetic field necessary to balance the plasma. Even if the plasma position is displaced due to certain cause, the displacement is detected by a position detector 16 to allow the comparator 17 to produce the difference between the detected value and standard value xo. Thus, the position control regulator 18 produces current standard io corresponding to the detected displacement difference to the comparator 19. Thus, the plasma position displacement is returned to zero.
