Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove scrap automatically so as to improve workability, by mounting a scrap receiver so that it is rotatable prescribed degrees around horizontal axis in welding two metallic plates after their end parts are sheared off.
CONSTITUTION: Metallic plates 19, 20 sent from a preceeding process is made to contact with lower shearing edges 8a, 8b of a shearing machine, then the upper shearing edges 10a, 10b are lowered in order to shear off the ends 19a, 20a. Sheared sections 19b, 20b are formed on the metallic plates, and the ends 19a, 20a are collected in a container box 4. Upper shearing edges 10a, 10b are raised, a movable frame 2 is transferred to the left, then the scrap box 4 is turned by a turning mechanism 5. The scrap contained in the box 4 slides on a scrap chute 21 and is discharged to a scrap bucket 22. The sheared sections 19b, 20b of the sheared metallic plates 19, 20 are brought into contact with each other, pressed through electrodes 13, 16 by a driving mechanism 15, then welded by applying electricity from a transformer 12.
