PURPOSE:To enable a conventional PBX to function to pick up calls by equipping the PBX with a call pickup trunk whose one terminal is connected to the trunk-side terminal of a switch frame and the other one is to an extension telephone set. CONSTITUTION:Originating main-wire trunk CPY is used as a call pickup trunk and a talking line which should be connected to the main wire normally is connected to extension telephone set STA-A as shown by A. This PBX is given a normally decentralized answering function. When an incoming signal arrives at telephone set STA-A through path 1 of siwtch frame SW, a call signal is supplied to CPY through path 2 at the same time as the bell ringing of STA-A, so that CPT will become able to make decentralized answers. Dialing the number of a call pickup from telephone STA-B on hearing the bell ringing of STA-A enables STA-A to answer the incoming call through path 3, so that a three-party talk with STA-A and STA-B main-wire incoming sides will be realized. Consequently, conventional PBX can be given a call pickup function by the minimum wiring modification.
