Abstract

The present invention provides novel vinyl-stannyl derivatives useful as intermediates in the preparation of prostaglandin analogs. The present novel compounds have the formula: <IMAGE> wherein R1 is selected from the group consisting of C1-C5 alkyl; R is <IMAGE> aliphatic hydrocarbyl radical containing at least one protected hydroxy group. Methods for the preparation of the present novel compounds are disclosed, as well as their use as intermediates in the preparation of prostaglandin analogs.
