Abstract

PURPOSE: To accomplish highly accurate measurements and to improve the reliability by feeding the field current of an AC exciter to a function generator to generate the field current of a synchronizer.
CONSTITUTION: A field current meter 8 for a brushless synchronizer, which is made responsive to the output of an AC exciter to excite the field winding of a synchronizer, is made receptive of the output IEf of a shunt 7, which is operative to detect the field current signals of the AC exciter, the output FG of an electromagnetic pickup 10, which is operative to detect the r.p.m. of a rotor, and the output TCG of a temperature detector which is operative to detect the temperature of the gases for cooling the synchronizer. The meter 8 is equipped with function generators 16 to 20 to generate a plurality of functions, in which the r.p.m. of the synchronizer and the field temperature of the same are used as parameters, thereby to accomplish the desired calculations so that the synchronizer field current If is generated to drive an ammeter 14.
