Abstract

PURPOSE:To make possible to form a small hole with near precise circle and to control the diameter of the hole precisely by adding previously an organic pigment to an un-baked ceramic substrate which is to be bored by laser processing. CONSTITUTION:Boring by laser an organic pigment-added un-baked ceramic substrate comprising ceramic powder, baking agent, plasticizer, dispersing agent, and binder. The organic pigment with high laser absorption such as malachite green is used in a quantity of 2 to 20% by weight of the binder. The using of the organic pigment-added un-baked ceramic substrate improves the laser processing efficiency, makes possible to form a small hole with near precise circle and to control precesely the hole diameter because the laser is absorbed greatly. The organic pigment disappears during baking after boring, and the sintered substrate resulted is identical with the conventional.
