Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a control device, which can simply and inexpensively detect variations of the pneumatic pressure by making use of negative pressure produced in the engine intake system and thus permits ready pneumatic pressure compensation of a vacuum motor, the operation of which is controlled according to the magnitude of the intake system negative pressure.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of the engine operation a negative pressure is produced at an intake passage 2, and this intake pressure is led through a port 26 to negative pressure paths 27 and 28. The throttling characteristic of orifices 28 to 32 is set such as to meet Px=Pa+α(Pm-Pa) and meet Py=Pyo+βPa under a condition |Pm-Pa| > 300 mmHg where Pm is the intake negative pressure produced at the opning of a port 33, Pa is the pressure substantially in the atmospheric pressure state at port 32, Px is the negative pressure produced at a negative pressure port 36 and Pxo is Px at Pa=0. Thus, in the vacuum motor 23 the load acting upon the diaphragm 25 is a function of only Pa, so that pneumatic pressure compensation can be readily made.
