Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the title molded article having clear and delicate patterns, useful as an FRP bathtub, etc., by molding FRP containing an inserted decorative cloth printed by transfer process.
CONSTITUTION: Cloth 3 of saturated polyester, etc., is printed with a pattern using a transfer paper, and placed on a male mold 1 facing the printed side outward, pref. interposing a surface mat 6 therebetween. An SMC material of FRP is placed thereon, and pressed with a female mold 2. The molten FRP resin is transferred through the meshes of the cloth 3 to the surface mat 6, and forms a transparent resin surface layer 5. After curing, the molded article is released from the mold.
