Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a polyurethane composition which is curable at room temperature, and gives a cured product having excellent heat resistance and machanical properties, by the use of tris(aminomethyl)hexane derivative as a chain extender or a crosslinking agent.
CONSTITUTION: A cold curing polyurethane is prepared by adding 1, 3, 6-tris(aminomethyl)hexane derivative of formula I [at least one of X1-X6 is II (R is 2-12C difunctional aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon group; n is an integer of 1-12) and the rest are H] as a chain extender or a crosslinking agent, to the reaction mixture for the preparation of polyurethane from a polyisocyanate having at least two terminal isocyanate groups, e.g. tolylene diisocyanate, and a compound having at least two groups having an active hydrogen atom, e.g. polyalkylene ether glycol. The number ratio of the NCO group to the total number of the active hydrogen atom of the above compound and the hydrogen atoms of the OH groups and amino groups in the compound I, is pref. 1 to 0.9-1.5.
