Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a reverse osmosis membrane of superior heat resistance, chemical resistance, pressure resistance and oxidation resistance by making the membrane with the polymer having repetitive units containing specific quinazolone rings as a main component. CONSTITUTION:The membrane is prepared by using the polymer having repetitive units including quinazolone rings shown by the formula I [where Ar is aromatic groups, R is (un)saturated aliphatic, alicyclic, aromatic or heterocyclic groups]. The polyquinazolone-polyamide copolymer having the repetitive units of the formula II in particular [where Ar is aromatic groups, R R' R'' are (un)saturated aromatic, alicyclic, aromatic or heterocylic groups, i and j are molar fractions and i + j = 1, i = 0.15 to 1, praticularly perferably 0.5 to 1] is desirable as abovementioned polymer.
