Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a linear additive for steel with superior productivity and stability in quality by extrusion molding additive raw material, Ca and Al with regulated purity, and tightly covering the resulting wire with a steel tape while attaching the tape lengthwise. CONSTITUTION:Additive raw material 4, fine grain Ca of a purity above 95% optionally mixed with fine grain Al of a purity above 97%, is charged into heated container 1 and extrusion molded into wire 5 through die 3. Wire 5 is continuously passed through forming unit 7 while attaching mild steel tape 6 lengthwise to tightly cover wire 5 with tape 6 at an overlapped state, thus obtaining composite linear additive 8 for steel. By this method wire 5 with good surface states is obtd. without ignition at the time of extrusion, and hence the extrusion speed can be increased, resulting in enhanced productivity.
