Abstract

PURPOSE: To compose a compact two-component zoom lens system of divergent refracting power group preceding type of relatively high zoom ratio having excellent aberration performance, by overcoming problems such as aberration corrections by setting various conditions shown in equation I.
CONSTITUTION: The stronger the divergency of front group refracting power ϕ1, the larger the zoom ratio Zr can be made, so that the effective diameter of front group 1 may be smaller. This, however, causes limits on the aberration corrections, thereby limiting also the divergency of ϕ1. Therefore, when expanding the zoom ratio to the value of equation I-1, the ratio of refracting powers ϕ1 and ϕ2 of front group I and rear group II is set to the value of equation I-2. Meanwhile, the distance L from the image plane to the front group becomes the minimum when the interval l between the front and rear groups is l=(2ϕ12)/(ϕ12), so that equation I-3 is established. If the upper limit of equation I-4 is exceeded, it is improper from the view point of aberration corrections, and if beneath the lower limit, corrections of strains may be possible. Thus, a compact lens system of high zoom ratio having excellent aberration performance may be obtained.
