Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent clogging of ink jet nozzles owing to the insoluble precipitate deposited by metal ions by providing a filter device composed of chelate resins which absorb metal ions in the specified position of the ink feed line. CONSTITUTION:A chelate resin filter device is removably provided between the air trap 3 and pump 4 in the feed line of the ink feeder. Since the metal ions in the ink having been fed from the air trap 3 are absorbed in chelate resins 13, the ink perfectly absent of metal ions is fed to the pump 4. Hence, deposition of carbonate, etc. owing to the metal ions does not occur in a jet nozzle 9. Further this filter device is removable from the lead-out pipes 15, 16 of the air trap and pump by means of a cap nut 12, thereby permitting easy exchanging of the chelate resins 13. In this way, clogging of the nozzle by the insoluble precipitate may be prevented.
