Abstract
PURPOSE: To accomplish an easy, continuous production of a high temperature reducing gas by heating a mixture of preheated gases and a hydrocarbon gas in a parallel current reducing chamber by means of pebbles, preheated to a specified temperature, separately fed into a counter current reducing gas preheating chamber and a parallel reducing chamber.
CONSTITUTION: Pebbles 1 are inserted into a heating room 3 to be heated to 1500°C or so, and then dropped into a parallel current reducing chamber 4 and a counter current gas preheating chamber 5 for improvement. Then, a heat exchange is performed between the rebbles 1 and a mixture of ahydrocarbon gas and a gas to be improved, made in a mixing chamber 11, to heat the pebbles 1 to 1200°C or so. The pebbles 1 thus heated are dorpped into a counter current air preheating chamber 6 to be further heated to 3000°C or so by air sent as shown by the arrow, and then dropped into a conveyor 7. On the other hand, the current of the gases are produced as follows. A gas containing CO2 and H2O to be improved is fed into the chamber 5 to be heated to k300°C or so. The gas thus heated is sent to the chamber 11 to be rapidly mixed with a hydrocarbon gas, such as CH4, preheated to 600°C in an apparatus 12, and then proceeded to the chamber 4 to be reformed into a reducing gas of 1200°C or so.
