Abstract
PURPOSE: The addition of tannin and N-methylolacrylamide or its polymer to starch gives inexpensively water-resistant adhesive for corrugated fiberboards.
CONSTITUTION: (A) starch is incorporated with (B) tannin, (C) N-methylol- acrylamide or poly-N-methylolacrylamide, when necessary, (D) polymerizable monomers such as acrylic esters to produce said composition wherein the amount of component (B) is 2W10 wt% as the solid on the basis of component A.
EFFECT: Said adhesive has high water-resistant adhesion and does not make the joint surfaces fragile.
