Abstract

PURPOSE: To convert the charge quantity changing according to the quantity to be measured such as velocity of flow, vibrations, etc. to voltage signals by using an active filter which combines an operational amplifier and impedance elements.
CONSTITUTION: A charge amplifier 2 is constituted by an operational amplifier OP1 and the capacitor C1 and resistance R1 connected to the feedback circuit of OP1, and the foregoing piezoelectric sensor I is connected between its input termimals. The cutoff frequency fa of an active filter 3 is selected near the minimum value of the measuring frequencies and its gain is selected sufficiently large. Hence, the characteristics of the entire part of the circuit consisting of the piezoelectric element I, charge amplifier 2 and active filter 3 becomes as shown by the solid line and the low frequency range characteristics of the charge amplifier 2 are compensated by the active filter 3, whereby the desired gain is obtained.
