Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the size and weight of an atomic beam apparatus and proide the construction which is high in mechanical strength, is hard to cause errors in atomic beam path and causes less degradation in the degree of vacuum.
CONSTITUTION: The half part of a branch waveguide 302, leakage blocking part 303 and Ce getter chamber 304 is made by working one surface of oxygen-free copper 301 which is divided to the section parallel to the atomic beam path and is hermetically bonded to the symmetrically worked half. A flange 801 and waveguide 802 are integrally and hermetically brazed to high frequency input part 8 and a hermetic window 803 is mounted. A yoke for C magnetic field is fixed at an even spacing of parallel outside faces H-H'. With the face I-I' flange 305 orthogonal to the beam path as a reference plane, A, B magnetic field constituting unit parts 2, 6 and a Ce atomic beam generating part 1, detecting part 7 are integrated in the specified positions via tube 205 with the particle path as an axis, after which a vacuum is created therein. The magnet, yoke, shield cace, etc. necessary for operation are made mountable after evacuation and the necessary adjustment parts are formed executable as desired from the outside, whereby the required constitution is obtained.
