Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus which is capable of removing HCl stably from exhaust gas without being affected by variation in HCl content of the exhaust gas, by repeated use of solid absorbent having reacted with HCl contained in the exhaust gas and having been regenerated in a water tank, and by collecting the reaction product formed through evaporation and drying of the regenerated waste water.
CONSTITUTION: Exhaust gas 1 contg. HCl is introduced into a moving-bed type reactor 2, where it is contacted with a moving bed 12 consisting of a reacting and absorbing agent (example: lime contg. CaCO3 as a principal component) in order to absorb and remove harmful component such as HCl etc. The reacting and absorbing agent falls down along many trays successively, and the agent with decreased reactivity is delivered from the lower part of the tower 2 to a water tank 3, where it is liberated from reaction products, e.g., CaCl2 etc. Then the regenerated absorbing agent is conveyed 4 to a hopper 5 and is charged 6 to the tower 2. The wash water 14 taken out of the water tank 3 and the exhaust gas 15 having been treated and discharged from the lower part of the tower 2 are sent to a spray drier 7, where waste washing water is sprayed 16 to be evaporated and dried by the heat held by the exhaust gas. After collection of powdered reaction product by a dust collector 8, the cleaned gas is released through a chimney to the air by means of a blower 9.
