Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce and remove NOx with an excellent continuous removing efficiency and using a cheap catalyst, by reducing catalytically NOx in the exhaust gas with NH3 using natural iron ores containing gamma-Fe2O3 in a specified ratio as the catalyst. CONSTITUTION:As the above catalyst, the iron ores of which the converted value to magnetite [(the ratio of Fe3O4 content from the magnetic measurement)-(the ratio of Fe3O4 content from the chemical analysis value)] is 1.6 wt.% in the content ratio of gamma-Fe2O3, are used. As these iron ores, a sinle brand or a mixture of more than two kinds of brands, is used and, for example, natural iron ores from Loberiver, Swaziland, Riodese, etc. are used. Beside, it is preferable to use these iron ores having a grain size of 3-6mm in diameter. Further, because the catalyst of these iron ores can be charged into the blast furnace after the use, it is beneficial also for the prevenion of environmental pollution. Besides, the relation between the ratio of gamma-Fe2O3 content in the iron ores and the efficiency of denitration is showed in the figure.
