Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a small-scale circuit which excels both in the synchronous control characteristics and the polarity control of the DC component and converts the 4- digit binary word into the 3-digit ternary word, by performing the polarity control via the integral value control for encoding and the synchronous control at the decoding time via the common control respectively.
CONSTITUTION: The weight of the ternary word converted into the A1 mode is integrated first to the binary word which is divided in to blocks based on the fixed conversion code. Then the integral value control 8 is given so as to select 9 properly the ternary word of modes A2∼A4, and at the same time the continuation of "0" code is controlled through second code converter 10 be encoded to ternary signal S3. Thus, the block synchronization can be secured through the integral value control, and furthermore the digital code row thus obtained has the alternating polarity based on the weight except for the special pattern converted through converter 10. Accordingly, the synchronous control similar to the common control system can be given to binary signal S4 at the decoding time just by removing the special pattern. Also, the code error detecting time can be reduced since the direct transition is prevented for mode A2 and A3.
