Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a radioactive substance from diffusing into a container to improve the safety of a door valve by providing a valve member, which is made of an elastic band and which is formed with a space for allowing a fluid to pass therethrough, in a valve casing.
CONSTITUTION: A valve member 16, which has a sealed space 22 with bellows 18 and 19 and chute surfaces 20 and 21, is mounted in a valve casing 2 formed with openings 6, 7. The communication passage 25 in a drive shaft 4 is connected to a sealed space 22 and has its other end equipped with a liquid supply tube 17 and liquid discharge tube 28. When the valve member 16 is brought to the position of the openings 6 and 7 by a drive mechanism 5, a fluid flows through a valve 29 into the sealed space 22 to extend the bellows 18 and 19 so that the openings 6 and 7 are sealed by the seat surfaces 20 and 21. Even if upon replacement of fuel the openings 6 and are communicated so that the radioactive substance steals into a space 13, they are sealed with the valve member 16 simultaneously with the completion of the replacement so that the radioactive substance in the space 13 can be prevented from diffusing into the container.
