Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently recover the blast furnace gas energy to reduce the energy comsumption by driving a blower with a furnace top pressure turbine.
CONSTITUTION: A turbine 6 is connected through a clutch 10 to a blast furnace flower 12 or a prime mover 11 so that the power generated thereby may be transmitted to the blower 12. The power reguired by the blower 12 never fails to be higher than the power generated by the turbine 6 so that the prime mover 11 is made to run in parallel with the turbine 6. Here, the power of the prime mover 11 may be reduced to an extent corresponding to that generated by the turbine 6.
