Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a nonpoisonous, stable, oil sol. surfactant giving no stimulus to the skin, the active component of which is a 6-22 C acyl-contg. N-long chain acyl neutral amino acid ester whose ester moiety is derived from a specific polyol. CONSTITUTION:1-6 mols of a 6-22 C acyl-contg. N-long chai acyl neutral amino acid, 1.0-1.1 mols of a plyol, a polyoxyalkylene polyol ether, a polyol fatty acid ester contg. free OH groups in the molecule or a polyoxyalkylene polyol fatty acid ester, and 10-50 vol% of a nonpolar solvent such as benzene or toluene to the total amt. of the acid and polyol are charged into a reactor, mixed with stirring, and heated at 70-200parag.C for 1-10 hr in the presence of 0.01-1.5 mols of acidic catalyst with stirring to remove by-product water as much as possible, thus accelerating the reaction. By this method a surfactant which varies from liquid to solid with HLB values can be obtd. according to the purpose.
