Abstract

PURPOSE:To minimize the voltage applied across the circuit through the suspension of triggering of a semi-conductor switching element by using an impedance voltage induced across the secondary coil of a stabilizer after lighting of a discharge lamp with the actuation of an impedance stabilizer. CONSTITUTION:When the power is turned on, capacitors Cp30 and C30 are charged through a diode D31. When the terminal voltage of the capacitor C30 reaches the breakover voltage of a trigger element Tr30, a thyristor T30 conducts to allow the capacitor C30 to discharge electricity. Thus, a pulse voltage is induced across the secondary coil of a choke B30 to light a lamp L30. After lighting, a lamp current flows to generate an impedance voltage across the choke B30 which charges the capacitor C30 in the reverse direction through a diode D32 and a resistor R33. Accordingly, the thyristor Tr30 fails to be triggered so that no pulse voltage is developed while the lamp is on.
