Abstract

PURPOSE: Title composition with markedly increased impact strength without any adverse effect on mechanical strength such as flexural strenght and elasticity, that is composed of a thermosetting resin, nylon fibers and glass fibers.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 40-85, preferably 45-75 wt% of a syrup of thermosetting resin is mixed with (B) 3-25, preferably 5-20 wt% of nylon fibers of 1-30 denier in thickness and 1-20 mm in length, preferably nylong 6 fibers, and (C) 10-50, preferably 15-35% of fiber glass treated by heat cleaning of 5-30 micron in thickness and 0.05-2mm in length wherin the amount of the fiber glass is made to be large than thet of the nylon fibers, uniformly in a mixer and dried at 60-80°C for 3-6 hr to remove the water and methanol in the syrup and crushed in crusher into granules or flakes.
