Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a method of spreading a closed mouth of a synthetic resin bag, wherein prior to loading products into the bag the closed mouth of the bag is preliminary spreaded by heating it, and jet gas is properly introduced into the bag, so that the closed mouth of the bag can be spreaded quickly and without fail and therefore at a succeeding station the bag can be loaded with the products properly.
CONSTITUTION: A synthetic resin bag 20 is gripped at the opposite sides thereof by gripping members 22, and before the gripping members 22 approaches each other a flattened mouth 24 is positioned between heating bars 26 and heated thereby. This heating operation is effected by contacting or approaching the heating bars 26 to walls of the bag. In place of the heating bars 26, hot blowing air can be used to effect the heating operation. The heating temperature is set below the melting temperature of the synthetic resin constituting the bag. By the heating operation the bag is caused to have outwardly turned portions 28 at the walls adjacent the mouth 24. As a result, compressed gas from a nozzle 30 can quite smoothly be introduced into the bag to completely spread the mouth and at the same time to inflate the bag. As the compressed gas is introduced into the bag the gripping members 22 approaches each other to aid the inflation of the bag. After the mouth has been completely spreaded, the bag 20 is transfered to a loading station to be filled with products.
