Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the separation of stern water flow on a non-slim ship, by accelerating the water at the separation point by electromagnetic force.
CONSTITUTION: A horizontal electromagnet 4 is provided in the direction of width of the ship 1 so that the north pole of the magnet is located at the left and the south pole is located at the right. The electromagnet 4 is located behind the separation point 3 of the stern water flow. A magnetic field X, X' is produced by the magnet 4 through the water at the separation point 3. The magnetic field is perpendicularly intersects the directions Y, Y' of electrical currents flowing from an electrode 5 to other electrodes 6, 6'. Electromagetic forces act in directions Z, Z' at the intersection points. The water at the separation point is acceleratd astern on the outside plate of the ship by the electromatnetic forces. Thereby, the water flow is rectified and the separation is greatly reduced.
