Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to continuously locate a diver without any portable device of the diver but in sufficient accuracy by detecting the acoustic sounds which are generated from the breathing bomb brought by the diver. CONSTITUTION:When a diver breathes in water, specific sounds S are generated from an air supply bomb 1. These sounds are detected first and second directional sensors 2A and 2B which are carried on a vessel, so that they are convertd into signals corresponding to their respective direction theta1 and theta2. On the other hand, signals proportional to the distance 2d between the sensors 2A and 2B are generated from a coefficient device 5, and are introduced into an operational device together with the detectors 2A and 2B to obtain the distance of the bomb 1 in the x and y coordinates so that the bomb 1 and accordingly the diver can be located in an x-y plotter 10.
