Abstract

PURPOSE: The condensation polymerization between spirophosphoric chloride and a diamine is conducted in the presence of an acid acceptor in an inert organic solvent to produce said flame-retardant polyphosphateamide that impart durable flame retardancy when incorporated to fiber materials.
CONSTITUTION: The condensation polymerization between 3,9-dichloro-2,4,8,10- tetraoxa-3,9-diphosphaspiro[5,5]-undecane-3,9-(dioxide), that is, spirophosphoric chloride and a diamine of formula I (R1 is arylene, halogenated arylene, 1-10C alkylene; R2, R3 are H, 1-6C alkyl, aryl where halogen means chlorine or bromine) is conducted in the presence of an acid acceptor in an inert organic solvent to produce said polyphosphateamide having recurring structural units of formula II (n is 1W1000)
