NEW MATERIAL:Phenylethanolamine derivative I (X is alkyl, H, halogen, alkylthio; R1 is H, alkyl; n is O, 1-3; R2 is aryl, benzoxane, aryloxy, arylthio).
EXAMPLE: 2-Chloro-5-[1-hydroxy-2-(1-methyl-3-phenylpropylamino)ethyl]benzamide.
USE: Hypotensive agent having low side effects; remedy for peripheral inadequacy; remedy for stenocardia (having both β-adrenaline blocking effect and α- adrenaline blocking effect).
PROCESS: The title compound can be prepared, e.g. by reacting an epoxide II with an amine III, and when Y is a group which can be converted to carbamoyl group, converting to carbamoyl group.
