Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the picture featuring high picture quality with natural feeling by reading out the signal charge alternately for each light receiving part arranged checkerwise and obtaining the vertical correlation through the adjacent receiving parts.
CONSTITUTION: Clock V1 and V2 are applied to vertical transfer gate TG24 and 25 as well as to 26 and 27, and vertical transfer register 22 transfers the signal charge in the X-direction. At the same time, clock H1 is applied to horizontal TG28 and 29 as well as to horizontal storage gate SG30 and 31, and clock H2 is applied to horizontal TG32 and 33 as well as to horizontal SG34 and 35 respectively. And horozontal transfer register 23 transfers the signal charge in the Y- direction. Then sensor signal S is applied to receiving part 21A and 21B, and pulse S1 and S2 are applied to switching gate 37 and 38. Furthermore, overflow control gate 39a is provided between overflow drain region 39 and each receiving part. The signal charge stored in each receiving part is read out through register 23 alternately with every horizontal line. Thus, the sampling efficiency is enhanced for the unifrom screen with the picture element number increased and without giving the signal process using the delay circuit
