Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve reliability and facilitate automation of measurement by correcting the read voltage of a recording medium with the signal voltage corresponding to the change in the number of revolutions and converting the same to the signal voltage corresponding to the time for one round of the recording medium.
CONSTITUTION: The signal having been magnetic-recorded in a recording medium 1 is read and amplified with a read head 2 and an amplifier 3, and is converted to an absolue value signal E1 in an absolute value circuit 4. This signal is sent from a correction circuit 5 to an integration circuit 6, where it is integrated at the time constants of a resistance R and the capacitor C of the integration circuit, whereby an average value signal voltage E0 is obtained. The correction in this correction circuit is accomplished by multiplying the absolute value signal voltage E1 and correction voltage ER to provide the characteristics of the multiplier of the correction circuit 5. The time constant of the integration circuit is controlled by obtaining the correction voltage ER inversely proportional to the time required for one round of the recording medium, whereby the mean value of the read signal voltage for one round of the recording medium is always obtained. This enables stability to be obtained in terms of reliability
