Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to grasp the scatter etc. in the exhaust temperature of cylinders at first sight, by providing near the exhaust ports for the cylinders thermosensitive pieces which emit light depending on the ambient temperature and by transmitting the light through light transmitting members. CONSTITUTION:The thermosensitive pieces 2 are located near the exhaust ports for the cylinders at an exhaust pipe 1. Each thermosensitive pieve 2 has a bottom part 2a fixed on the exhaust pipe 1, acylindrical part 2b supported on the bottom part 2a and located in the exhaust pipe 1 and a luminous part 2c which is located at the tip of the cylindrical part 2b and heats red depending on the ambient temperature. One end of each light transmitting member 3 made of a fiberglass bundle is inserted into the cylindrical part 2b of the thermosensitive piece 2 and has one end 3a facing the luminous part 2c and the other end 3b at a display unit 4 installed outside the engine. The exhaust temperature, namely the state of combustion of each cylinder is displayed by the intensity of light on the end 3b of the light transmitting member 3 at the display unit 4.
