Abstract

PURPOSE:To generate the hour striking sounds of such a tone as is stable irrespective of the changes in temperature or voltage by generating striking frequency pulse signals in response to the frequency dividing output of a frequency lower than the sound generating clock signals so that these clocks may be modulated with the striking frequency pulses. CONSTITUTION:The oscillatory frequency of a quartz oscillator 1 is subjected to frequency division to generate sound generating clock signals in response to suitable frequency dividing output. In response to the frequency dividing output of a lower frequency than the sound generating clock signals, striking frequency pulse signals are generated to modulate the clock signals so that hour striking sounds may be generated from a speaker 12. With such construction, since a self-running multivibrator is not used, it is possible to generate the hour striking sounds of such a tone as is stable irrespective of the changes in temperature or voltage.
